A suite of Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs) and Connectors that provide data connectivity between Business Systems and Plant Control Systems.

A drag and drop application for building open standards based operator interface screens.

Starthis is pleased to make available a free downloadable iTapestry evalution kit which includes:

• a ControlLogix PLC Bean (single PLC version);
• an EtherNet/IP Connector; and
• the HMI Builder.

The evaluation kit is available for different combinations of operating system, application server and database server.

You have a choice between:

• Flexible Manual Installation Process (Choice of WebLogic or JBoss for a variety of operating systems)
• Quick Install Version for Windows (Using a bundled preconfigured JBoss Application Server)

The iTapestry software is also available for use on IBM's WebSphere Application Server v5.x. Contact Starthis (sales@starthis.com) for a WebSphere compatible evaluation kit and installation instructions.

The Flexible Manual Installation is more suited to Java software developers who have some experience in writing and deploying Java applications.

iTapestry Evaluation Kit - Quick Install Version for Windows

The easiest and quickest version to install is provided as a single windows executable file (210 MBytes).

This single file package includes a wizard driven installation program which will automatically install and configure:

• a ControlLogix PLC Bean (single PLC version) v1.6.1
• an EtherNet/IP Connector v1.6.1
• the HMI Builder v1.0.1 (optional)
• IEC 61131-3 Data Types Library v1.6
• JBoss v3.2.7 Application Server
• HSQLDB - Hypersonic embedded Database
• Eclipe v3.0.2 for Windows (optional)
• Java Software Development Kit (J2SDK), Standard Edition, Version 1.4.2
• Javadoc documentation
• Installation Help
• Usage manual for developing Java applications for accessing ControlLogic PLC tag data
• Usage manual for building HMI applications with the HMI Builder

After downloading iTapestryEval.exe, when you run this executable file an Installer Dialog Window will open as shown below.

To install the software you will need to obtain a License File. Send an email to eval-license@starthis.com to request a license key.

As you can see the installation program allows you to choose a location to install the JBoss (v 3.2.7) Application Server. The Quick Install Version includes a preconfigured embedded Hypersonic database.

If you wish to use the HMI Builder application it includes a version of Eclipse, or you can use the HMI Builder plugin with an existing installed version of Eclipse.

The installer also includes a copy of Java 2 SDK version 1.4.2.

The installer program and its contents will run on Windows 2000/2003/XP.
