Please visit this website: http://eclipse.org/downloads/index.php and make sure that you DO NOT download Eclipse SDK 3.1.
Please perform the following steps.
Look for the heading titled Eclipse Project and you will see an entry titled Platform with two links titled Downloads and Project Home. Click on the link titled Downloads as highlighted in Figure 1.1, “Eclipse downloads page” to load another webpage in your browser.
You should now be seeing a webpage as shown in Figure 1.2, “Eclipse project downloads page”. Look for a heading titled Latest Releases which has two columns titled Build Name and Build Date. Click on the link titled 3.0.2 under the column Build Name as highlighted in Figure 1.2, “Eclipse project downloads page” to load another webpage in your browser.
You should now be seeing a webpage as shown in Figure 1.3, “Release Build: 3.0.2 webpage”. You should see an entry for Windows (Supported Versions) and a file named eclipse-SDK-3.0.2-win32.zip. Click on this file name, choose a mirror of your choice and download the file.
Once you open the zip file using a decompressing utility of your choice, You should extract the zip file to a desired location (For example, c:\starthis_demo\eclipse). Remember that if you want your Eclipse Platform to reside in the location c:\starthis_demo\eclipse, you have to extract to the location c:\starthis_demo and you have to be at the top-most folder level of the zip file, which shows you only one folder titled Eclipse.
Please note that there is no formal installation executable to run.
